The online form opens on <strong>16 November 2026<\/strong> and the <strong>last date is 15 December 2026<\/strong>. It is a UT cadre post in Pay Level-6, and selection is through a written exam only. There is no interview.<\/li>\n<li>Questions are objective (MCQ) and in English only.<\/li>\n<li>There is <strong>negative marking of 1\/4<\/strong> of the marks for each wrong answer.<\/li>\n<li>The syllabus will be notified separately on jkssb.nic.in. Until then, prepare core diploma subjects: thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, strength of materials, theory of machines, manufacturing, IC engines, refrigeration and engineering drawing, plus basic aptitude.<\/li>\n<li>Shortlisted candidates go through document verification with original certificates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Salary<\/h2>\n<p>JE (Mechanical) is in Pay Level-6 with a pay range of Rs 35,400\u20131,12,400. Dearness allowance and other admissible allowances under J&amp;K government rules are added on top, so gross pay is higher than basic.
