About the role
Bugcrowd runs crowdsourced security and bug bounty programs for large companies, combining ethical hackers with AI. As an Application Security Engineer you will review and validate vulnerability reports sent in by security researchers for many different client programs.
What you will do
- Triage incoming vulnerability submissions and confirm their validity, accuracy and severity
- Contact clients or researchers when a report needs more detail
- Escalate and communicate the most critical bugs to clients as part of incident response
- Work across web, mobile, IoT, automotive and embedded targets
- Build scripts or tools that speed up the triage and validation process
Who can apply
- A bachelor's degree or prior security consulting experience
- Strong understanding of OWASP Top Ten issues such as XSS, SQL injection, IDOR and SSRF
- High skill with Burp Suite or a similar proxy, plus tools like nmap, sqlmap and Kali Linux utilities
- Ability in at least one scripting or programming language and good communication skills
