About the role
Sophos runs a round-the-clock Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service for businesses around the world. As a Threat Analyst you will join this security operations team, investigating alerts and helping stop cyber attacks for customers.
What you will do
- Investigate and respond to security events using log, endpoint and enterprise tools
- Take escalations from level 1 analysts and help onboard and train new analysts
- Open customer cases and follow up until threats are neutralised
- Research new indicators of compromise, exploits and vulnerabilities
- Prepare MDR reports and security metrics on threat trends
Who can apply
- 5+ years in a SOC or computer security team
- Hands-on experience with endpoint and network security, including IDS/IPS, EDR and malware defence
- Knowledge of attacker techniques and the MITRE ATT&CK framework, plus incident response basics
- Windows administration plus macOS or Linux; SQL and OSQuery are a plus
- A bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Work from home details
The position is listed as remote in India, and Sophos is remote-first. Because the MDR service runs 24x7x365, you must be willing to work outside normal hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
