About the role
OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, runs a restaurant booking platform used by millions of diners and over 70,000 restaurants. It needs a Senior Data Engineer to build the data and AI infrastructure behind its next intelligent products, combining classic data engineering with generative AI.
What you will do
- Build data pipelines for LLM training, inference, evaluation, embeddings and retrieval
- Create production RAG systems, from document ingestion and chunking to indexing and reranking
- Develop AI applications that use tool calling, structured outputs and agent workflows
- Design batch and streaming pipelines with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Snowflake and Airflow
- Set up data quality, lineage, governance and observability practices
Who can apply
- 5+ years in data engineering, software engineering or distributed systems
- Strong Python and/or Scala/Java plus advanced SQL
- Hands-on work with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark and Airflow
- Practical experience building with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases and semantic search
Work from home details
