About the role
Databricks, the data and AI platform used by thousands of organisations, is hiring a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer in its Professional Services team. You will work hands-on with strategic customers to solve large-scale data and AI problems on the Databricks platform and build reusable tools that many customers can adopt.
What you will do
- Build reference architectures, how-to guides and production-grade tooling for customer big data projects
- Advise key customers on major migrations and on designing, building and launching data and AI applications
- Support architecture and design decisions so customers adopt Databricks successfully
- Share field feedback with Engineering and Support to improve the product
- Run several customer projects at once while managing risk and quality
Who can apply
- 15+ years with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, cloud-native tools and data lakes in a customer-facing technical role
- 6+ years designing big data architectures independently and 2+ years on AI work such as RAG, MCP or context engineering
- Strong Databricks experience and coding in Python or Scala
- Experience across AWS, Azure or GCP plus good documentation and whiteboarding skills
