About the role
Coinbase holds a large amount of digital currency, so security is central to its business. The Security Platform Engineering team builds shared systems for secrets and key management, identity and access, onchain security, policy and vulnerability management. This Staff Software Engineer role will help shape that platform.
What you will do
- Design and build the platform for the security engineering org
- Create new backend services in Golang or Java
- Set technical direction and quarterly roadmaps with managers and stakeholders
- Review designs for security, scale and reliability across teams
- Mentor engineers on design and coding standards
Who can apply
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience designing, scaling and running production services in a service-oriented architecture
- Strong system design and coding skills with well-tested code
- Clear written and spoken communication
