About the role
Karat runs live technical interviews for companies such as PayPal, Atlassian and Citi. Its Interview Content team writes the coding questions and scoring rubrics used in those interviews. In this role you will create and test interview problems instead of building production software.
What you will do
- Design coding exercises, debugging challenges and real-world engineering scenarios
- Write and check reference solutions in several programming languages
- Use AI coding tools to work faster while keeping content accurate
- Peer-review content against Karat's quality standards
- Improve questions using candidate performance data and interviewer feedback
Who can apply
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience after college and internships
- Solid skills in debugging, testing and code review
- Experience with AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code
- Strong written and spoken English; experience on remote, distributed teams
Work from home details
The team works 100% remotely, but Karat is only hiring people who live in Bengaluru for this role, so applications from other Indian cities will not be considered. Your schedule must overlap with US business hours, which means late evening or night work in India. Applications must be fully in English.
