About the role
Yugabyte builds YugabyteDB, a distributed PostgreSQL database used by companies such as Shopify, GM and NPCI. Its Customer Support team is hiring a Technical Support Engineer for the APJ region. Prior support experience helps, but strong technical skills and a willingness to learn matter more.
What you will do
- Help customers solve problems with YugabyteDB in a timely and friendly way
- Troubleshoot issues across distributed databases, cloud infrastructure, APIs and integrations
- Work with Engineering, Product and Documentation teams on customer needs
- Keep clear case notes and write knowledge base articles
- Take part in a global on-call rotation
Who can apply
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical role
- Strong knowledge of at least two of: databases, distributed systems, AWS/GCP/Azure, Linux, or scripting (Python, Bash, Java)
- Good written and spoken communication with technical and non-technical people
- Nice to have: support, DevOps/SRE or PostgreSQL experience
Work from home details
This is a fully remote role on APJ time. Working hours fall in the early morning IST, and the role includes weekend coverage, with two fixed consecutive weekdays off each week. On-call duty may include after-hours support.
